Getting to Jindabyne

Whether you are in your own car or a hire car, driving is a great way to get to Tigh na Bruaich, Jindabyne.

From Sydney the drive is a cruise along major roads. Taking 5½ hours, the 461km journey passes by Goulburn, Canberra and Cooma, along the Hume, Federal and Snowy Mountains Highways.

From Canberra its an easy drive of a little over 2 hours, the 179km taking you via Cooma along the Monaro and Snowy Mountains Highways.

Alternatively you can fly into Canberra and catch a bus onto Jindabyne. Airlines currently do not to fly into Cooma airport but it is worth checking at time of booking. A taxi service operates from the airport to Jindabyne.

Jindabyne and surrounds

Tigh na Bruaich is located in the heart of Jindabyne, a 25 minute drive to either Perisher or Thredbo. A gate entry fee is levied on visitors to Kosciuszko National Park in order to pay for the upkeep of the carpark and facilities, and also the free village shuttle bus that operates in Winter.

If you’re driving straight up to the ski resorts, Jindabyne is a great place to grab a coffee, snack or hire equipment and wheel chains.
